I don't know how I stumbled on to your site but the picture of Butler 46 years ago showed the sign of the restaurant my family owned. Krone's Driftwood Lounge. What a surprise. I have the original menus, ashtrays and the piece of driftwood that hung above the bar, but until now no pictures of the sign.
In the 50's Butler had parking meters on all the main drags in the business district. I think a parking ticket cost around 2 bucks back then. Our fair city overlooked no opportunities to get their hand in your pocket.

Does the City of Butler still use these same holiday decorations? Just wondering. These really looked familiar.
