Thanks for all your votes. We didn't win one of the first 5 projectors. Good news is Honda has announced they will give away 4 more. Voting has been extended until September 21. So please vote twice each day. once at www.projectdrivein.com/vote_120 and once by text

As posted on the Butler Blog, July 2013

The Pioneer drive-in, in Center Township, is in real danger of going out of business, but there are efforts to save it.

Next year, movie distribution will convert to digital which means reels of movies will be no longer. For a drive-in to update its equipment, a company needs thousands of dollars. It's estimated that it would take Pioneer $350,000 dollars to do just that.

Currently there are 368 drive-in's throughout the entire country. 'Project Drive-In' is trying to help save as many of these locations as possible. Honda is donating 5 digital projectors to 5 locations, which will be determined by the number of votes a drive-in gets online.

How can you help?

To vote for Pioneer, log onto www.ProjectDrivein.com, click "Vote to save a drive-in" on the bottom menu bar, and then enter Butler's zip code. The screens will take you step by step from there.

There is also a drive-in fund in which you can donate to. That money will be distributed to drive-in's in need.

Pioneer was built in 1958 and has been in operation for 55 years.

Voting ends September 9, 2013. -

Someone bought it and is redoing everything. It has a new name and will be open again in the spring.
