LOL! I dunno, it looks like early mausoleum period to me. But then to each his own...

My Dad worked there, brings back lots of memories. I moved away after graduating high school, fell in love and moved to New England. Loved looking at all the old buildings as they were when I was growing up. Thanks.

This is a great building. I wish someone had a picture of the old "Butler Water Company" where there was a faucet in the window that looked like water running out of nowhere, and Oscar Waddell's Jewelry Store, and of course Leonard Kempers Harness Shop with the big black horse right inside the door!!! The good ole days.

I still miss the trees around it that they "cut down to put up a parking lot".

This building should become a museum for Butler in the future. The first floor ceilings are beautiful along with the marble decorating the first floor and second floor interiors. The lobby ceiling at the side door has car parts such as spark plugs, etc. painted along with gold leaf paint. The front lobby is also original and painted in gold leaf.I was a secretary there.

I worked in this building for 8 years, and have such fond memories of my fellow employees. The building is indeed beautiful inside and out.

This was designed by architect Benno Jansen. The same architect who designed Elm Court. I believe this was built in about 1929

Most of what made America great has been devowerd by the wealthy, our industry has left the country for cheaper labor, we were once a nation that made things and workers that worked hard were rewarded, now as long as you kiss up or have a buddy in management you will have a job no matter if you do it well or not. Yes the buddy system is doing well here in Pa and the old building will soon fall down as we have no use for them seeing as though there are hardly any jobs where you can make a living at.

Remember sled riding at Philips Mansion . Long ride down the driveway . Or you could cut down the steep hillside. Lots of fun !
