I think he lived on Locust Street, up near Franklin Street.

He graduated with my aunt and yes he lived in the Institute Hill area.

Bill and I were friends at school and even acted in a play together. I remember him as a real nice guy and years after graduation was pleasantly surprised to see that he gone on to such great fame. I have the greatest respect for him and wish him well wherever he may be.

Bill's father, my dad and another uncle owned some small grocery stores in the late 1940's. One of the stores was on Center Ave and the other on Carbon Street. We lived upstairs above the stores during my early childhood. They sold the stores when the larger supermarkets became popular, about the same time that the Korean conflict broke out, and my dad went back into the Army for the next 30 years. My family moved to Indiana, PA, then on to many Army posts. I often wonder what life would have been like if I could have been raised in Butler instead.

Different subject, but who was the one-time BHS student who won the Nobel Prize in physics?

I believe Bill Perry lived at 225 East Pearl Street across from Miss Barltey's house (English Teacher at Butler High)

I knew Bill well. We graduated in the same class in 1945. I was so proud to see him reach the high office he held. He did Butler High up grand.
