One of the stores was on Center Ave and the other on Carbon Street. We lived upstairs above the stores during my early childhood. They sold the stores when the larger supermarkets became popular, about the same time that the Korean conflict broke out, and my dad went back into the Army for the next 30 years. My family moved to Indiana, PA, then on to many Army posts. I remember him as a real nice guy and years after graduation was pleasantly surprised to see that he gone on to such great fame.
