I believe this area is where Fudoli's Music store is and where Allan's Toyland was. It is also across the street from where the new Rite Aid will be located.
Charles, I recently came across your Butler Pennsylvania Poems and enjoyed them very much. I was born in Butler in 1942 and found the WWII poems particularly meaningful. I am now retired from academic life and live in Colorado.

There appears to be an empty lot in this picture. What used to be on this lot and how long has it been vacant?

the empty lot is where the Sun Drug was located. The music store and Allands buildings are still there.

A Rite-Aid drugstore used to be where the vacant lot is now. I'm not sure, but I would say the lot has been vacant for ten years or more.
