  1. Ed Kiezkowski and Paul Stasko were in the 1966 graduating class from Butler High School. Merle Brown was a chaplain who died on Palm Sunday 1971. He was affiliated with St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Paul Stasko was a neighbor, always felt bad for him growing up. He did not have a good childhood but grew into a fine young man.

  2. One name that is not on the Memorial, who should be, is Victor Rikal. Vic was a classmate of mine that graduated from BHS class of 1964. There is book "American Boys" written by Louise Esola that tells the story of Lost 74 about the sailors that lost lives serving this country.
Victor was a crewman who sailed with her on that fateful morning, June 3, 1969 when USS Frank E. Evans DD-754 collided with the Australian Aircraft Carrier HMAS Melbourne (R21) and was cut in half. The forward section of USS Frank E. Evans DD-754 sank in 1100 fathoms of water within two minutes. Seventy-four lives were lost. USS Frank E. Evans DD-754 was struck from the Navy Register in 1969.

  4. There is an Earl P. McBride listed on the Vietnam Wall. He was born in Volant, Pa. The listed casualty date is 10/22/1966. The Earl that is listed was a LCDR pilot in the U.S. Navy. God have mercy on his soul.

  6. I knew Paul Stasko as we were neighbors growing up and also Gary Reed who was a close friend. We lost both at a very young age. Tragic.
