Bought many Fords from Tony Johns. Miss him.

Was enthralled as a youngster by the elevator inside that moved cars up and down between floors but even as a kid thought the light blue siding they put on this building was grotesque. Wonder if they tried to sell it when the new bridge was built; maybe just a few feet too much to the west?

On the other side of Main, there was a small yellow brick building (if I recall correctly)which housed the Butler branch of Pittsburg Post Gazette. Going there each week, I passed bye the Ford store but never when in to look around the new cars.

You see, ago, there were Ford folk and Chevy folk...and never the twain would meet. "FORD" meant 'Fix Or Repair Daily" to us Chevy folk. And that's the name of that story.

There was also a dance studio on that side of the street in the yellow building and I took many lessons there.

I remember that Dance Studio. My husband and I took lessons there from Art & Jean. Made a lot of super friends there.

Tony Johns was easy to deal with, always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Bought quite a few cars from him.

MOPAR - "My Old Plymouth Ain't Running."

FORD - "Fist on Race Day."

My son had a bad diarrhea episode one time during a test ride. The whole car stank.

I bought some great cars from there over the years...the Pinto, Bronco II, Aspire, and the Mustang II. I got plenty of looks by people on the street!

As a kid (late 60's) I would go in and look at the new cars, sit in them, get all the brochures,
Those guys were pretty cool never chased me out.

Searching for information about Rush Edsel sales,Inc. Located at 431 E. Jefferson st. A water Company has used that building since 1991. The Edsel car was sold at The Rush dealer from September 4th 1957 to 1958 or 1959. The Edsel didn't last long. Would be great to locate a photo or information on this topic.
