From July 2006-June 2008 Brigadier General Peter J. Talleri of Butler, Pa. commanded 3d Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan. In June of 2008, General Talleri reported to the Defense Logistics Agency for duty where he presently serves as Commander, Defense Distribution Center.

Believe Pete Talleri was BHS Class of 1975.
Wouldn't it be nice if there was some organization in Butler that would invite Brig. Gen. Talleri back to Butler to talk to our youth. If he accepted the invitation, he could talk about where he grew up in Butler, what helped him to decide on his career in the Marines, what helped him to be successful, looking back was there anything he would have done differently, etc. A motivational speech might help some of our young people to make choices that would lead to a successful and happy life.
I remember Pete from back in the 70s. That is so wonderful what he has accomplished as a Marine. I know I am awfully proud of him.

I met him today. He mentioned very nice about our work, ECC-911 disptch center at mcas iwakuni.
