Remember This? ~ 10,000 Meter Race
In 1979 nearly one thousand runners competed in the annual Ten Thousand Meter Race. The winning time was 30 minutes 18 seconds. And the first prize was a silver bowl.

I was in it. Took the stuffing out of me. Besides that I took a bad spill along the way.
Dr. Lou Shapiro was one of, if not THE guru of the run as I recall. What a gem he was! One of the nicest persons God made ... And he loved his community.

I was in that race also. One of my first 10K's. Coming back up Main Street after running Alameda Hill was more of a challenge that it appeared!!
who could forget the big feet they painted on the streets, i think it was main street,brady street,and then alameda rd..if i am correct
