The Shiloh Baptist Church on Snyder Avenue in the West End was demolished in February 2025.
The church was built in 1914 as possibly the first, and one of the only, all black churches in the city of Butler.
Also, the wife of an early pastor was a former slave of Dr. Samual Mudd, who treated John Wilkes Booth following his assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
