It was a special treat to stop at the Dairy Queen on a hot summer night. My favorite was a creme de mint sundae which I have never been able to get at any other Dairy Queen!
It used to be a special treat to stop at the Dairy Queen at the top of the hill on New Castle Rd. My favorite was a creme de mint sundae which I have never found at any other Dairy Queen. "With a bee, and a bi, and a bo, and a bop... sure that's Dairy Queen with a curl on the top!" was the jingle you would hear on the radio and TV.
As a teenager, I worked a summer at Godot's Dairy Bar on the top of Center Avenue. The woman owner told us her ice cream had a better taste than Dairy Queen, but I could never tell the difference so I kept tasting both of them all summer long . . . LOL
