This is the First English Lutheran Church in Butler. I went there with my parents and brother until college. Some excellent caring pastors there over the years. A wonderful pipe organ. The stained glass windows are still beautiful.
This is the First English Lutheran Church. The first Lutheran Church was St. Mark's German Lutheran Church. The services were in German. But the members of the congregation who spoke English wanted a Lutheran church where they could understand the service. That was how our church came about. It also has the carillon bells that play a hymn during the day.

This is not St. Marks.
This isn't St. Mark's Church. I believe this is the English Lutheran Church on Main St.

This is NOT St. Mark's Lutheran Church. It looks like the English Lutheran Church on Main St.
Found your blog via reddit! I love the old photos; long-standing churches always take my breath away.
