Wow, I had class in the two first floor rooms, Miss Brown, 4th Grade and Miss McBride in 5th grade. I had Sixth grade, Miss Moseso on the second floor on the left. When the weather was warm and the windows were open the smell of baking bread from Chantler's, across the the street would make us so hungry.
The town of Springdale was laid out by William S. Boyd around 1872. The many springs in the area were the source of its name. Today, known as "South Side"

Went to elementary school there. Sat on those steps many a summer night enjoying the aromas of Chantler Bakery
