Our Farmers National Bank was constructed with a "Indiana Limestone", a stone that is very useful for cladding buildings. It is estimated that this limestone from Indiana was used for 50 to 75% of all limestone buildings in the country. Some famous buildings are the National Cathedral, Grand Central Station, the buildings in the federal triangle, Empire State Building, Pentagon, monuments all over the country, and large parts of downtown Chicago and New York [all of Rockefeller Center].
Same building still stands. It now houses the Butler County Bar Association and Shelly's Grille. The exterior was restored a couple of years ago and received a preservation award by the City of Butler.
The bank was taken over in the early 20's by the Butler County National Bank which is now known as the Lafayette Apartments.

Just wondering if this is South Main St. and what occupies this spot now? This is really a beautiful building.

Yes, when you are on Main Street, look close. The building is still there.
