In the 1920s my Grandfather worked for the Bessemer & Lake Erie RR. Every day he and other RR workers boarded a train at this station which took them to wherever they were assigned to work that day. In the early 1960s our family boarded a train at this location. Rode the train to Conneaut Lake Park for the annual B&LE Company picnic held every summer. That was back when there was a red caboose at the end of the train and the man in the caboose would always wave to anyone near the RR tracks. Not sure, but I think it was also in the early 1960s when they stopped the passenger trains.
While looking for more pictures I learned there were a number of stations in approximately the same location. This website shows the stations in the county. It makes one remember how much more critical and widespread rail transportation used to be locally and nation-wide.

I never knew we had a train station in Butler.
In the mid 1960's I think there were 2 freight stations. I picked up transformers for a Heathkit stereo that were too heavy to be mailed.
My great-uncle, Frank Bell, had the B&O Restaurant in this vicinity.

I rode that train to Conneaut. My dad and grandfather worked for the B&LE. Jumbo sandwiches wrapped in wax paper was your snack. J.B.
They used this station as a model for an HO train building.
