It seems to me that while driving south over the main street viaduct,I looked left,and south east and a building stood,I think that was the bantam works. Franklin glass was in that area as well,I may be confusing them.
I Googled the map of Butler and I believe the old building is on Bantam Av.(makes sense) just west of Pullman Park. Can't be positive since there is no street view but the building with the tall smoke stack looks right.
It is on Bantam Ave, Owned By AK Steel for quite a while. You can't enter the property. If you are on Hansen Ave near the Pullman office bldg, you can see it easily.

Interestingly enough, the piece claimed it was in Pittsburgh that the Jeep was manufactured. C'mon, Pittsburgh is not even in Butler County so I'm guessing that the narrator was talking about the Pittsburgh area.
One wonders what other inaccuracies are in the piece.
The Bantam Building is located on Bantam Avenue which is on the west side of Butler City. The building is visable from Hansen Avenue, but is within AK Steel fencing, not accessable to the public. The building was last occupied in the late 1960s by Butler ARMCO Engineering Department. The Engineering Department moved to their Route 8 South location at the end of Project 600. The Bantam Building then became a storage area for spare parts and paper for the operation of ARMCOs Plant 2 operations.
There is a rumor going around "the mill" that the Plant 2 (Bantam) property has been sold to an yet-to-be-named buyer. One rumor suggests that it is the Community Development Corporation (CDC) in Butler and the primary purpose of the purchase was to obtain the Bantam Buildings for historical restoration. Again, this is only rumor, but I've heard it repeated from fairly reliable source.
Has anyone been in the building in recent years? Would it be recognizable as the Jeep factory in any way? If so, this is a building that is eligible for the State and National Register of Historic Places. That puts no restrictions on use of the building, only provides great distinction and recognition for Butler.

Butler is finally having a big 3 day Jeep festival in August. Butler's claim to fame has been
