The area near the wall, Maryes Heights, is developed for housing. Trying to visualize what the troops went through that day is, unfortunately, difficult at best.
Fredericksburg is a nice place to visit to see what there is of the field and the restored/preserved old town.
Folklore in our family was that a family member was in the Pa Union fight at Gettysburg---Hezekiah Patterson---but I didn't hear about Fredericksburg--have to check it out.
I have an ancestor Hezekiah Patterson, my 3rd great grandfather, born about 1842. Is this your same ancestor? I'd be curious to hear about that you know. jrfalk@gmail.com

I wonder if any Butler people took part in the reenactment.
