Wilbur Glenn Dumbaugh ~ BHS '45

+ 22 July 2010
It was his voice. We knew him as a business man. But his true love was music. He had a rich baritone voice and was in demand as a soloist. His voice graced many a choir here and in Western Pennsylvania.

I think Wilbur sang in just about every church in Butler. It was a treat to hear him.

So good to be reminded there were, and still are, talented individuals living in Butler, PA. Nice to focus on the positive.

Wilbur sang in the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh and the Mendelssohn Choir.

I had the pleasure of being in "Fiddler on the Roof" with him. A wonderful guy and an amazing performer. Sad to hear of his passing.

Wilbur and I were great friends. He directed the choir in High School and was always a star musician. I remember him as a young boy because he leaved only a few blocks from me at the time. He died shortly before our 65th reunion last summer. Truly a great man.

My grandfather retired from Dumbaugh Electric. After he passed, Wilbur would come and give Grandma a turkey and later, if I recall correctly, let her choose a gift for Christmas from a catalog. He was so nice to her. I graduated with his daughter Tracey who is also deceased. Both were wonderful people.
