Our Old Main Street Viaduct ~ Gone
We fancied the straight thrust of Main Street from the northern hill to the southern, right through the center of town.

I wish that bridge was still up. Or at least torn down and built the same way... That new bridge is a waste of money, that they could be using to fix these streets.
Walked across that bridge many a time. Lived a few streets over the top of S. Main. How many kids do you think walk up and down S Main to go to a Sat afternoon show. Majestic, Butler, Penn, and the old Capital. I had Bus money, but walked so I could go to Hot Dog Shop. Wonderfull memories
dropping that bridge was like cutting ties between family members...south hills to downtown. I wished they wouldn't have done that. Now the bridge looks like a wannabe pittsburgh off ramp.
If you were stopped at the light going south at the end of the bridge you would know why it was replaced. When trucks rounded the bend and got onto the bridge it would be rock and roll time.
