Keeping up with past and present happenings in a remarkable small town.
They don't make school auditoriums like this anymore! The beauty of this place plus the marble stairway can never be duplicated in modern school buildings. I remember a Christmas assembly when Toni Briggs (I think her husband was one of the principals) sang "O Holy NIght". Guess that wouldn't happen nowadays.
This is where I went on my first date!
I remember a lecture series back in the '60s that was held here for the citizenry when a speaker tried to convince us that to use a toothbrush with nylon bristles would harm, maybe even destroy, our teeth.
Its actually very nice !
Pre 1960 it had ols uncomfortable wooden seats and poor lighting. Had study hall in the balcony. Kids threw pennies down at the tubas when band was on stage.
