Wow, I never realized just how small these cars were! Among my grandfather's collection of defunct Depression era stock certificates, I have one for 5 shares in the American Austin Car Company. He and a business partner bought up a lot of foreclosed assets in Butler during the Depression. American Austin liquidated in 1935, and the surviving American Bantam Co. merged with Arlen Realty & Development, in Pittsburgh, on February 26, 1971. This is as far as the trail led when I researched the entire collection of fascinating stock and bond certificates my grandfather, Gardner Lowry, left in an old tin box.

Cute.I would like to drive around town in one of them and see what the people would do. I bet many would want to know where to buy one.
