What's happening? All my favorite spots going.

Yeah Steve, I hear ya, even though I've been gone from Butler 20 years or more. The final straw--what about Savannah's Pizza, which, as I recall, was just around the corner up on Wayne Street from Serventi's?

Did you mean "Aquaviva's pizza" that was on West Wayne street just up from Serventi's? That was the best pizza I ever had. My family would get that every weekend when I was a kid. We would call and just say our name and they would say "the usual". My family still talks about that pizza today.

And just now I remembered...I think..Savannah's Pizza was on North Street, across from the junior high, three or four doors down from the Knights of Columbus.

That was Mana's Pizza, across from the junior high on North Street. Loved going there when I stayed with my Grandmother. Ahhh the memories.

Those are both good pizza places, but the best pizza we ever had was at the Viaduct Pizza. That place closed a long time ago and was torn down when the new Wayne Street Viaduct was built. Butler used to be a great place to live. Now, it's a shell of the former glory days. Sad.

I remember Serventi's when it was The Castle, and then Mexican Village. Joe Baranick owned it.He's my father. I hung out there through grade school and high school. I loved the cooks and waitresses but especially the Italian food.

Tried every year at this restaurant only to have unprepared staff and food not available - a true recipe for closing.

Never had a bad meal at this place lunch or dinner. Always delicious. There's a new Serventis that opened in the former Runway restaurant at Butler airport. It's also quite good although I'm not quite sure the relation.

Went many times with my parents in the mid 70's. I recall a great veal Parmesan dinner for about $9.00, and being enamored of the pretty, young short-haired blonde that worked there at the time.

The new restaurant "Serventi's On The Runway" Joe Serventi Sr is part owner.
I live in Texas and flew back home in January. We went straight there from the airport. Food was delicious and service was fantastic. Place was just newly remodeled and looked beautiful. Got lucky and was able to see Joe there. He turned 80 this year and is doing great.
