In '58-'59 I worked at Dillon's Meat Market just up Jefferson St. I always looked forward to lunch at the HDS on Saturday. Loved their chill and berry pie (as well as everything else.) As long as the Hot Dog shop was there I could always take a trip back to the past. Too bad it is gone.
What a great picture! My granddaddy and I always sat on the right, where those two guys in the gray shirts are. He always let me have chocolate milk and a chocolate donut while he drank coffee and smoked a Lucky Strike. He died of lung cancer and I'm overweight; those were the days...
I see "PUMP' enjoying a hot dog
