Worsley's ~ 87 years of service

Another regrettable closing.
Everyone knew this storefront on Main Street.

This is what happens when people don't support local. They save a few bucks driving to Home Depot. The continued decay of another city.

Did the decay start with the building of the first Butler Mall out on New Castle Road? or did it begin with the union forcing the closure of Pullman?

It's a shame to have this store close. It has such a nice storefront on Main St. and a variety of merchandise for sale.

Sad to see it go. And even sadder about Natili South closing.

People stopped shopping downtown Butler for many reasons. Getting a lower price at a "big box" store is only one reason. Downtown shopping used to require paying the meter and sometimes a parking ticket on top of that. Mall shopping was more comfortable when a shopper didn't have to go in and out of bad weather. Downtown Butler used to be the place to go and it was GREAT!! Everything changes.

Worsleys was too high priced.

I don't recall Worsley's for some reason. What type of merchandise did they sell?

Sadly, this year the building has burned down and is being demolished in late November.
