My children have grown up in Florida, I can't imagine what they would do if they had to walk up that hill. It was pretty tough in the winter, but we managed. What a great town, I miss living there. She walked this everyday to elementary school (Jefferson I think), and the yellow and red brick buildings. She was late for school occasionally so the janitor to the elementary school held the bell for her so she wouldn't be in trouble. Little did she know that years later she would marry his son.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14858576.post-25848915298898686242008-04-19T18:04:00.000+02:002008-04-19T18:04:00.000+02:00The best part of South Main hill was the cemetery....The best part of South Main hill was the cemetery.....whippin eggs at cars as they went by...either on Main St., or on the other side, Three Degree Rd.
Insensitive? I live in Butler and spend 6 months a year at my Florida home. I still have many fond memories of Butler. Perhaps traversing it way more often made it seem so.

While I don't long for Butler in the same way as some, I am increasing intrigued by the memories many of these pictures bring up. But that's enough, the memories; I don't feel the need to return, especially since mostly only the dead remain in my hometown.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14858576.post-89960717580974837872008-03-18T04:43:00.000+01:002008-03-18T04:43:00.000+01:00is there a date for this pic.......it sure isnt an...is there a date for this pic.......it sure isnt anytime recentAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
