He became an Eagle Scout in February 1941 and saved his award certificate, other memorabilia and photos. He never had a son or grandson who was in scouting but did inspire his great grandson to aspire to become an Eagle Scout which happened this past July. Unfortunately he didn't live to see it but would have been very proud. His special scouting treasures were held in trust for him and will be awarded to him this afternoon Oct 17 at his Court of Honor Ceremony. <br /><br />My father in law often spoke of his Scout Master who guided him through his scouting years, as his own father had died when he was only six. Council offices were on a second floor on Main St. The Council operated Camp Bucoco on the Slippery Rock Creek. I was in Troop 12, sponsored by St. Mark's Lutheran.
