At one time I believe the Busy Beaver lumber yard was behind it or real near to it. There was a massive fire in the mid 60's , my Dad took me to see it , rats were running everywhere.

My dad also told me the story of him seeing this place burn down. He said that some of the rats that ran out were the size of cats. Said they were the biggest rats he ever saw.

I remember my parents waking me up to see the fire from our second story. We lived off Penn and Federal and we could see the flames from there!

Was there ever a busy beaver on new castle road where tractor supply is now?

Does anyone have an exact date of this fire? I can remember seeing the fire glowing in the sky from the point plaza that night and we ended up driving down town to watch the fire. We sat on police cars in the parking lot of the gas station at the corner across from the Munroe hotel.
Even that far away but heat from the fire was very intense. Nowadays they probably wouldn't let us within a mile of that.

Yes. Busy Beaver at one point occupied part of the old Zayres department store after it closed and prior to Tractor Supply (the old Central Tractor which had been located in Greater Butler Shopping Mart before it closed) moving there.
