Keeping up with past and present happenings in a remarkable small town.
ITS THE ATLETIC FIELD AFTER A HEAVY RAIN & THE CREEK OVER FLOWED ITS BANK.
yes if course it is...the field that the Jr. High uses.
As was noted in the article by Sam Menchyk, the West End would flood in the spring time from time to time. It was quite an event to visit the flooded area. Of course, the really big floods would occur in downtown Pittsburgh so our 'small' Butler floods were somewhat of a novelty except to the folks who had their homes and businesses flooded!
this is the hand railing on the wayne street viadact overlooking the athletic field. this hand railing is not intended to keep cars on the viadact its just for show maybe when they build the new bridge the will put up a guard rail.
